Theater Performer and Teacher
Lucy Fisher is very excited to be teaching in her hometown of Flemington, NJ. Lucy has been actively involved in the theater world since the age of 10 and has experience acting in both film and on the stage. In 2007, she graced the stage Off-Broadway at the Minetta Theater as a monologue soloist in the “The Beginnings Workshop” and worked for two years at the Bucks County Playhouse in such productions as ”High School Musical,” “Oliver,” “Carousel,” “The Music Man,” “Bye, Bye Birdie,” and ”Big.” She studied dance and voice throughout high school participating in Women’s, Chamber, and Jazz Choir at Hunterdon Central Regional High School and was an active member of the Thespian Society there as well. In 2008, she played Aida in ”Over the River and Through the Woods,” which won best play at the Bucks County Thespian Festival. She has also participated in many vocal competitions since then earning 1st place in Classical (2012) and Pop (2014), 2nd place in Jazz (2014) and Classical (2013) and 3rd place in Classical Virtuoso (2011) at the Mid Atlantic Music Teachers Guild Competition in New Jersey and was an honorary participant of the You Need Music Competition in 2010.
Lucy attended college in Madison, NJ at Fairleigh Dickinson University and became a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the collegiate theater honors society. During her time at school she studied under Nancy Robilliard, Stacie Lents, Stephen Hollis, Allen Cohen, and Noel Katz. She also participated in the student films “You’re Late”, “The College Trap”, and “Tik Toc Diner”. She later became the Teaching Assistant for Basic Acting in her senior year and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts with a Concentration in Acting, and then again in 2013 with a Masters in Teaching. She has worked as an actress at several different theaters and with several different companies including the Delaware River Theater Collective, Downtown Performing Arts Center, Once Upon a Time Players, Playful Theater Productions, Somerset Valley Players, Mendham Players, Eastern Opera of NJ, and Town and Country Players.
In between her performing career she teaches dance, acting, voice, piano, instructs children’s birthday parties, and directs children’s theater at several studios and theaters throughout New Jersey including Downtown Performing Arts Center, Encore Music, Mainstreet Music and Dance, and the Madison YMCA. She is also an evaluator for Paper Mill Playhouse for the Rising Star Awards. Her favorite past roles include Tracey (“Hairspray”), Anna (“The King and I”), Rona (“25th Annual Putnam…”), Aida (“Over the River and Through the Woods”), Rapunzel (“Into the Woods”), Sour Kangaroo (“Seussical”), Gladys (“The Pajama Game”), Mazeppa (“Gypsy”), and Winifred (“Once Upon a Mattress”).
